Building a deck around a round pool.
A few simple techniques let you build a deck that matches the shape of your pool and add any extra space you need.
It is a good practice to install joist tape over the top of joists to protect from standing water.
Make sure it is big enough for the swimmers to comfortably walk around the pool.
If you extend the deck on one side you create a place for gathering family and friends and sunbathing.
You will need to allow for specific clearances and access to any necessary equipment etc.
Building a deck around your aboveground pool gives you easy access for swimming and maintenance.
Then install pre made concrete piers along that string line and put 4x4 wood posts in them to support the deck.
Set up the pool frame before constructing deck if possible.
We recommend building the pool deck directly under the lip of the pool edge.
Framing around pools is very similar to framing around hot tubs that are set on concrete pads.
It is best to set a series of segmented beams and footings about 2 from the edge of the pool to support around the curved sides.
